I believe that all women are pretty without makeup and can be pretty powerful with the right makeup – Bobbi Brown

Hi Loves,

How are you all doing? I wish all of you and your family Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Hope you all spent some wonderful time with your family in the holidays.  So while enjoying the holidays I thought to review on the most essential make-up product almost every girl have  – Foundation. A good foundation is really a life saver for all girls. The above quote by Bobbi Brown is true, if you feel you have perfect skin color you don’t need to put a foundation but now-a-days a foundation is not used to make your face look fairer..it’s used for make your skin look natural and powerful.

The Common Myth

One mistake which a lot of girls make and which I also made in my starting days was to just go to Sephora and pick up a foundation from a good company without seeing if that matches my skin tone or not. It’s very important to chose your foundation strictly that matches your skin tone. So next time you go to buy foundation talk to the people at the store and ask help to choose the correct one.

So today I am going to present you with Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Review and Swatches. After spending a lot of time and money I nearly gave up on foundation . Sometime I chose full coverage foundation that make my skin appears heavy, sometime cakey. Then finally I met my life saver foundation . Being a brand name bb really has a lot to offer.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Review and Swatches

Bobbi Brown offers foundation for the below types of skin tones so you must research the perfect one based on the skin tone you have:

Dry

Extra Dry

Oily

Then they offer different types of foundation:

Liquid

Once you choose your type then there are different types of shade which you can choose based on your skin tone.

I have a dry sensitive skin with a medium skin tone, I chose the below mentioned foundation and shade which I am going to Review Today:

Product: Skin Foundation SPF 15

Shade: Natural 4

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Review and Swatches

Product description

A truly modern foundation that offers invisible, weightless coverage that looks like skin, not makeup (it’s no wonder it’s a bestseller). This long-wearing perfectly balanced formula evens skin tone, minimizes the appearance of pores, and conceals imperfections. Its hydrating technology leaves skin feeling cushioned, comfortable, and clean- skin looks like itself, only perfected. The shade I chose is Olive Beige with neutral undertones.

Texture

Since it is a liquid foundation, so it is a little watery but thick enough that it sticks to the face. Only 2 pumps should be enough for your face. Always use a good brush to apply. I use the Make Up Professional Brush no 108 which I find the best for applying foundation. Do not use blender with this as the sponge will absorb some of the liquid. However with a brush the creamy texture blends easily leaving  the skin with a natural yet polished finish.

Coverage

This has a sheer to medium coverage and gives a true skin look. Just one layer should be sufficient but if you want to conceal acne or blemishes, you can use two layers. It does not form cake even when built up. Use a moisturizer before applying best with some SPF. This has SPF 15 which gives quite good protection from the sun too. And it does not feel heavy and creasy, yet my skin does not feel tight with it either.

Longevity

If you use it with a primer and powder it can easily last 7-8 hours. Other foundations I use, used to slip off my face after 5 hours and used to patch up in areas. With this you won’t ever notice these issues.

My Experience

I have very sensitive skin but Bobbi Brown’s Skin Foundation SPF 15 is so gentle so I do not break out and it looks really natural.  This does not have any sweet fragrance and I am very fine with that.  Overall this is a beautiful foundation, never sticky or cakey and makes your face FLAWLESS. I highly recommend this Bobbi Brown foundation for people with dry medium toned skin complexions.

Def going to give BB a try!! I have been against foundation because it does make my face look cakey 🙁 even on my wedding day I had to take it off! I have been looking for the perfect foundation for years!

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:18 am

I faced the same cakey problem too, but this is good.

  • Emily December 29, 2016 at 2:49 am

I have limited experience with foundations from different brands. I really appreciate your breakdown of what to look for.

  • Corsica December 29, 2016 at 5:12 am

I love this post, seems like a great foundation. My mom really loves that company!!!

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:16 am

      Thank you Corsica!!

  • neha December 29, 2016 at 5:21 am

Thats a good review. It’s particularly difficult to find exact skin tone match with lighter skin tone. Finally I was able to find one after switching two – three and I am sticking to it now

  • Debra Schroeder December 29, 2016 at 5:46 am

Great review, very thorough and comprehensive. Looks like it goes on nice and easy and blends in well.

  • Jimmy and Tina December 29, 2016 at 9:04 am

I haven’t tried Bobbie Brown but may have to get a sample. I am quite picky myself and my skin tends to turn foundation funny orange colors so I have just a couple of brands that I wouldn’t dream of straying from. Good tip on matching color, nothing worse than having that ring around your chin 🙂

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:50 am

Yes you can surely try sample to see how it works. I do the same too.

  • Hra December 29, 2016 at 9:15 am

I know bobbi brown!! It has perfect skin foundations!! I love your review, thanks for sharing with us

  • Faith December 29, 2016 at 9:37 am

I adore Bobbi Browns makeup and wish I could afford to carry it with me on my travels, so I try to get little samples of the products which does make travel easier. Such a great product.

  • Hannah December 29, 2016 at 10:21 am

This sounds like such a good foundation! I’ve always struggled with foundation because my skin is incredibly dry and foundation has always made it look scaley and horrible. This might actually work though!

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:49 am

My skin is dry too and this one works. Give it a try!!

  • Terri December 29, 2016 at 12:30 pm

I have never purchased a Bobbi Brown foundation as the price has always been too much for me, but I always have such trouble with my makeup slipping and my face looking greasy after a couple of hours of wearing the cheaper drugstore foundations, maybe this really is worth the price

  • valmg @ Mom Knows It All December 29, 2016 at 2:31 pm

I have never tried Bobbi Brown but have heard the name numerous times before. I learned back in the 80s that foundation should match the skin, I didn’t realize people did it another way.

  • Vanessa December 29, 2016 at 3:55 pm

I haven’t tried Bobbi Brown, but I’m in the market for new foundation, so I may give it a try.

  • Krysten December 29, 2016 at 3:59 pm

    That’s a great review!
I have to have people help me to find the right shade of foundation all of the time, I”m a really pale tone, but most people don’t carry the right tone.
I’m going to have to check out to see if Bobbi Brown has my tone!

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:15 am

Thanks a lot!! They have shades for all skin tones, just ask someone to help or you can try online to see.

  • Jacqueline December 29, 2016 at 7:41 pm

So you say you have sensitive skin. How sensitive? My biggest problem is that I have eczema and I literally cannot just wear anything. I have yet to find a foundation that works. I actually use bb cream for that reason. I’ve heard great things about Bobbi Brown though just haven’t been able to make the plunch

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:48 am

For your problem I think its best to consult a doctor first and also if you go to Sephora ask the people there to know which one is best for you. I always take their help if I am confused.

  • maria @closetohome December 29, 2016 at 7:57 pm

I use a lot of Bobbie Brown Products but never tried the foundation. I typically just use a tinted moisturizer.

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com December 30, 2016 at 7:14 am

I have heard about the moisturizer too. Their foundation is great, musty try.

  • Neely December 29, 2016 at 10:12 pm

Bobbin Brown makeup is some of my favs. Have you tried their mascara? Seriously life changing!

  • Alicia December 29, 2016 at 11:29 pm

This make up sounds nice! I am not usually big on wearing makeup, but i love foundation.

  • Bethanny December 30, 2016 at 4:20 am

I have heard a lot about Bobbi brown make up but never bought any. I might get this one!

  • Isaly Holland December 30, 2016 at 6:33 am

I have always heard great things about bobbi brown. I love how they always have such many shades as well. One day I will be trying this out.

It is hard for me to find the right shade.

  • Ance Antovska December 30, 2016 at 3:14 pm

This sounds like such a good foundation! One day I will be trying this out.

  • Anna December 30, 2016 at 5:45 pm

I use a couple of Bobbi Brown products on the daily (they make my favourite concealer), and the overall quality of their makeup is really great. I’m sure this foundation is no short of their standard either, although my skin gets a bit oily sometimes, so not sure it’d work for me. Nice review though, I’ll have a look at it when I go makeup shopping next time!

  • Stephanie December 31, 2016 at 5:43 pm

I’ve never had the pleasure of trying this brand! I only recently started venturing out of other products besides strictly mineral makeup. This is also the first year I started using liquid foundation. Is it always supposed to be watery?

    • thatneongirl2016@gmail.com January 2, 2017 at 7:36 pm

It is a liquid product but the texture is more like thick creamy not like runny watery. Try it out, I am sure you will love it!!

  • Crystal December 31, 2016 at 6:37 pm

This was a great review. I’m not into make up much and have a terrible time choosing products so a good review is very helpful for me.

  • Michele January 1, 2017 at 1:59 pm

It has been years since I wore make-up at all–only on very special occasions-and then maybe some powder type blush. I have super sensitive skin. BB does sound like it will work and well with most people and it is a well known brand that has stood the test of time!

  • Divya @ Eat Teach Blog January 1, 2017 at 3:32 pm

I have limited experience with foundations. I’ve only ever worn it on special occasions, so I don’t really know too much about which would be appropriate for my skin. Thanks for breaking it down!

  • Keating | Why Hello Lovely January 2, 2017 at 5:25 am

I just recently got into more high-end makeup products and so far I’m loving everything I’ve tried out. I’ll have to pick this one up once my current foundation is out! 🙂

  • CourtneyLynne January 2, 2017 at 5:59 am

Ooooo this sounds like one fabulous foundation!!!! I just love Bobbi Brown products so I will have to try this out

  • Vaishnavi January 2, 2017 at 1:25 pm

Wow. This sounds so cool. I’ve never tried Bobby Brown but would love to. I am looking for a good foundation. So this is the right time for me to try this!

  • Toughcookiemommy January 3, 2017 at 2:26 am

This foundation looks really creamy and seems to match skin shades well. I have never been any good at choosing foundation shades for my own skin.

  • Elizabeth O January 4, 2017 at 8:13 pm

I’m familiar with the product line as I have girlfriends who love the makeup. I enjoyed your review.

  • Holly @ Woman Tribune January 9, 2017 at 3:56 pm

I have heard nothing but really great things about Bobbi Brown foundation this year. Because I have oily skin that is super prone to breakouts, I find myself frustrated by my makeup more often than not. I think it might be time to give Bobbi Brown a try!
