Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was a long weekend in Canada and it was so good to relax and have fun. One thing which I have started to take seriously is my regular beauty care. So this weekend was fully my beauty time. A smooth, nourishing and bright skin is something which every lady wants and the best product to use for that is a face cleanser. There are so many cleansers in the market and it is hard to choose. If you are in a confused state right now like I was before, then this post is for YOU.

The power of charcoal

Until now the word “charcoal” probably made you think of your summer camping trips, the fire engine railways or the charcoal drawing of beautiful Kate Winslet from Titanic. Well you will be amazed to know that charcoal can be a wonderful beauty ingredient as well. Charcoal face masks are quite famous but they do a very helpful job when present in face cleansers. It acts as a magnet to attract and absorb dirt and oil from your face. When dirt and oil in your pores come in contact with the carbon, they stick to it and then get washed away when you rinse. This is very helpful in acne prone skins because it stops the acne by sucking all excess oils. I am talking about the beauty of charcoal in cleansers because the main ingredient of the product I am reviewing Today is “Charcoal”.

About the Product

All of you must already know about Lush products and how great they are. The cleansers sold at Lush are one of the best. The Dark Angel Cleanser is a solid mud texture cleanser with the main ingredients as Black Sugar and Charcoal Exfoliate. The cleanser is made to absorb all excess oils from skin to make it fresh and matte. Oily skin can also be sensitive, so special care is taken to make this product acceptable to sensitive skin too. It will make your skin soft and soothing. It is very effective in fighting acnes and with continuous usage, it helps in getting rid of acne all together.

How to use

• Take a small amount in your hand, add a little water and mix into a paste.
• Massage on your face gently to cleanse and then rinse clean.
• You can also apply all over your body for soft skin everywhere!

I have used multiple cleansers before and the problem with most of them is they destroy your skin and dry it out. But this cleanser is an excellent exfoliator and it leaves your skin glowing and feeling so smooth and wonderfully soft. The charcoal clears the excess oil from the face so it is a wonder product if you are facing acne problems. Do not spend hundreds of dollars on acne products instead try this once and you will feel the difference. I do not have acne but I have a combination skin and this cleared off my skin a lot. You can feel the charcoal while scrubbing but it is fine. It has rhassoul mud which deeply cleanses to help prevent breakouts. It also has Avocado oil and sugar in it which soothes the skin. It also contains licorice root extract (which is an anti-inflammatory), and organic soap that washes off the charcoal. It is abrasive enough to refine your pores. Last but not the least since it is totally organic, so there are no harmful chemicals which can affect your skin. I just use it once or twice a week and I can’t express how much soft and smooth my skin is now.

Pros

• Charcoal works as an excellent exfoliator and sucks the extra oil
• Very useful in fighting with acne and prevent breakouts.
• Leaves a glow to the skin and makes it soft smooth
• Acceptable for sensitive skin.
• Can be used for both face and body.

Cons

• Not suitable for dry skin because it will make it more dry.
